HomeLA was founded in 2013 by Rebecca Bruno. The organization stages dance performances at varying locations throughout Los Angeles County, with an emphasis on domestic spaces. Its programs are site-specific and center on the concept of “home.”
HomeLA’s purpose is defined as public programming that aims to expand the ways we think about and relate to one another and to the places we call home through art.
HomeLA’s digital materials were first donated by HomeLA Founder Rebecca Bruno and Andrew Mandinach through Helen Gu in 2016. In 2024 homeLA Director, Chloë Flores and Hailey Loman Director of LACA moved homeLA’s physical materials to the archive. This contained an organizational binder and single banker box. Materials in the homeLA archive reflect both the artistic visioning of Directors Rebecca Bruno and Chloë Flores and the administrative processes required to produce performances in domestic, neighborhood, and institutional spaces.
One banker box, 286.8 MB for 546 items
HomeLA’s holdings have been organized into two primary sections.
This collection has been fully digitized and organized into one banker box. Most materials are available online, except for files containing sensitive personal or financial information. Sharing these materials provides insights into art and dance happenings in Los Angeles and how artists can build and sustain a project like homeLA.
Additions are expected.
